Ow

Went out for a ski day yesterday with some of the former Club Med ski school guys: Scott Barney, Bill Dill, Greg Calla, Sholeh and Steve Lee. Pretty normal ski day reminiscent of the Club Med days: Spaulding Bowl and Glades, Resolution, A lift, Easy run diversion to Timberline down Windsong to get food, S lift, hike Tucker, back to Union Peak. Tucker was freaking amazing, waist deep on Freemont 1. I gave up my spot on the Cat to Bill Dill since he did not make the gate before closing. Irish, Copper Mountain local and Gaper Taunter, was also shut out and on the way up Mountain Chief we decided to hike the old pre-snowcat way to Tucker: around Jacques Ridge, traverse under Jacques Peak to the Tucker Gate then hike the rest of the way to Freemont Glade 1. That was at least 45-50 minutes of hiking and skating above 12,000 feet. Ouch but worth it for the waist deep.

yeah well I went for a 7 mile run yesterday. Who needs waist-deep powder when you can grind your knees into dust on pavement in some shithole office park in broomfield?
